<p>If you connect your Windows Mobile device to some Exchange servers via Active Sync, some organizations force a password policy to be applied to your device. I am not a big fan of “The Man” putting restrictions on what I can and can’t do with my own hardware.</p>
<p><span id="more-14"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://alittlestrange.com/tfoa/files/2009/09/image_12.png#utm_source=feed&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=feed"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="image_12" border="0" alt="image_12" src="http://alittlestrange.com/tfoa/files/2009/09/image_12_thumb.png" width="186" height="244" /></a> </p>
<p>This hack will allow you to gain back the control you had prior to the policy being applied.</p>
<p>Using a registry editor (I use <a title='Original Link: http://phm.lu' href="http://alittlestrange.com/tfoa/?dJYYaAjL" target="_blank">PHM</a>), navigate to&#160; <strong>\hklm\security\policies\policies</strong> and look for the value name “00001023″. Change the data from ‘0′ to ‘1′</p>
<p><a href="http://alittlestrange.com/tfoa/files/2009/09/image_11.png#utm_source=feed&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=feed"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px" title="image_11" border="0" alt="image_11" src="http://alittlestrange.com/tfoa/files/2009/09/image_11_thumb.png" width="185" height="244" /></a> </p>
<p>This will undo the grayed out lock setting. You are now able to control the inactivity lock option as well as the duration of the inactivity.</p>
